Nautical Fundraiser for The Well

All is Well on the Potomac: A starlight wine cruise by the Bay

An evening wine and gourmet food cruise fundraiser for The Well, the Cow Hollow family and community resource center for parents and their very young children run by Jean Rowliffe, former nanny to HRH Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and Danielle Steel, is planned for Friday, October 12. The benefit cruise will be held on the USS Potomac, the presidential yacht known as Franklin D. Roosevelt's floating White House.

Gourmet food, catered by The Left Bank, and the wines and yacht are a gift to The Well, courtesy of the Kontrabecki Family and Foggy Bridge Wine Cruises. The cost of the benefit cruise is $150 per person.

An on-board auction will give guests the chance to bid on some of Jean Rowliffe's Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace memorabilia (but probably not the slice of Charles and Diana's wedding cake that Rowliffe keeps wrapped in a drawer).
